Best PCP Car Deals

Where can you find the best PCP deals? It’s the question on everybody’s lips at the moment. Car finance can be the easiest and most affordable way to get yourself into a brand-new motor, but there are literally hundreds of PCP deals on the market, they all have varying terms, deposits and durations.

We created this guide to round up the best PCP deals we could find on the UK market in 2020.

From a cheap as chips SEAT Ibiza for nearly £100 a month, to a luxury sports car like the Audi TT, there can be a PCP deal to tempt anyone into signing up.

PCP stands for Personal Contract Purchase; in its simplest form you pay a deposit which is usually around 10% of the car’s value, but this can vary depending on the vehicle.

You then borrow the rest of the amount from the finance company to cover the cost of the depreciation, this value is based on what the car will be worth once you’re finished using it plus interest.

Finally, at the end of the agreed term, you can simply give the keys back and re-sign for a new car, or pay the balloon payment of the original agreed value if you want to keep the vehicle.

PCP deals can work out cheaper than buying a car for cash.

So rather than getting a personal loan to buy a new car over four or five years for a higher monthly cost, you can change your car every two or three for a lot less money.

As of 2018 there were nearly 1.6 million Brits leasing cars, and it’s easy to see why.

It’s always tricky to decide which lease is right for you, so we thought we’d pick out some of the very best PCP deals on offer today. These prices won’t always be the same as they can fluctuate daily, they should, however, be near to what we’ve found here.

Best value PCP deals

To pick just two PCP deals is hard, so we’ve gone for the best value for money across a variety of vehicles, we’ll look at the cheapest options a little later on in this guide.

Skoda Kodiaq

First of all is the Skoda Kodiaq. To bag yourself a brand new large SUV with seven seats for less than £300 a month is pretty astonishing.

Packed full of tech and safety features the Skoda Kodiaq is incredible value for this amount a month. In fact we’ve rated it as one of the best SUVs currently on the market.

The stylish Kodiaq is one of the best family cars money can buy.

You’ll be looking at the mid-range SE trim with the smaller 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine; ideal for lugging around your family but probably not the best option for towing, if you want a tow car look at the 2.0-litre diesel instead.

0-62 is 8.9 seconds in the 1.5 TSI while MPG can be as high as 51.4, you also get DAB, Bluetooth and USB inputs to take care of your infotainment needs while on the move. There’s also climate control on this SE spec.

If you want a few more creature comforts, SE-L can be had for a few pounds more a month.

We found deals as low as £279 a month based on a 48-month, 5,000 mile a year lease with just a £2,000 deposit.

Volkswagen Golf

Known as the ‘people’s car,’ the Volkswagen Golf is the default ‘go-to’ vehicle for buyers who want something practical, well built and drives great.

For that reason, we’ve picked a brand new five-door model in GT trim which includes an incredible amount of kit for the money, heated seats, sat-nav, adaptive cruise control emergency city braking, tinted windows, LED headlights and 17-inch alloy wheels. It’s the top of the Golf range.

The ever popular VW Golf, the hatchback for everyone meaning there's some great PCP offers new and used.
The ever popular VW Golf, the hatchback for everyone.

And that’s with the ultra frugal 1.6 litre TDI engine, meaning you should be able to get up to 67.3 MPG. Just bear in mind that around town diesels suffer slightly, they need a good long journey once in a while to keep everything running as it should.

One can be yours for just £225 per month for 48 months with an initial deposit of £4,754 with a £2,000 contribution by VW as long as you use their
‘Solutions PCP’ service.

Cheap PCP deals

Let’s take a look at three of the very cheapest PCP deals currently on the market. Some of the prices we’ve found are quite incredible, it may be time to trade in that old banger.

So you want to replace your car for as little money as possible a month? Seems like a great idea.

Fiat 500

Naturally, the cheapest brand new lease deal we can find will be on one of the lowest-priced cars to purchase new, the Fiat 500.

We’ve discovered new car PCP deals as low as £189 a month, but they tend to be short-lived offers, so expect to pay around the £200 mark normally. That’s still amazingly cheap for a brand-new motor.

The Fiat 500 is the cheapest new car PCP deal on the market.

For that money, you’ll get an entry-level ‘Pop’ model with the 1.2-litre engine, with the lease term being four years and just 6,000 miles allowance each year.

As Fiat give you £1,000 for your deposit, it makes the 500 incredibly affordable to get yourself into a mechanically sound, warrantied new car. If you decide to keep it, there’s a £4,361 final payment.

Suzuki Swift

As competitive as the Fiat 500 is, they’re incredibly small cars which are less than ideal if you have kids or need to lug around lots of stuff with you.

Here’s where the Suzuki Swift comes into play, yes it will cost you even less than a Fiat 500 a month, but it’s a five-door only and reasonably spacious hatchback.

If you want practicality and sporty looks head for the PCP deals page for the Suzuki Swift Attitude.
The Suzuki Swift Attitude adds a ton of ‘go faster’ styling.

Currently, a brand new sporty-looking ‘Attitude’ model with its punchy 1.2-litre petrol engine can be found from £159 a month with just a £1,062 deposit.

The term is for 48 months, and you get only 8,000 miles for that price, with an optional final payment of £4,761.

Citroen C1

Thirdly, and currently one of the cheapest PCP deals we can find in the UK is a Citroen C1. Just £154 will get a brand new C1 sitting on your driveway.

You’ll need to put down an initial deposit of £2,000 for the 48-month PCP plan. Oh, and the mileage allowance is just 6,000 per year.

How does used PCP work and how much will I have to pay?
The Citroen C1 makes for the perfect city runabout.

It may be tiny and only have a 1.0-litre engine but to motor on a budget the Citroen C1 ticks all the boxes, including the lowest lease price of any used vehicle.

Expect to pick up a budget ‘Feel’ model for this price, higher spec ‘Flair’ will cost you around £4 more a month but is probably worth it as it adds a few creature comforts like a reversing camera, DAB radio and air-con.

It’s easy to see why PCP has become the number one way to get a new car on your drive, whether that’s new to you or showroom fresh.

PCP deals with no deposit

Possibly the main turn off for would-be PCP adopters are the vast sums you have to put down as a deposit.

Companies have become wise to this, and in the last few years many offer a zero PCP deals. They can be few and far between, but we’ll keep the below updated when new offers come to light.

Skoda Fabia

Currently, Skoda are offering £0 deposit on their Fabia hatchback,

For just £105 a month you can get a brand new Fabia S with the 1.0 litre entry level engine. That’s based on a 48 month term and 10,000 miles a year.

Skoda's Fabia makes for a super cheap car to insure.
The Fabia is competitively priced, spacious and one of the cheapest cars to insure.

You also get a deposit contribution of £1,250 if you use their ‘Solutions PCP’ financial partner. You’ll still need to find a deposit of £2,239 which is fairly steep for a small, basic car, but it helps keep the monthly cost low.

A final payment of £4,110 will allow you to keep the car at the end of the term.

Best used PCP deals

As we touched on before leasing can still be expensive, but there’s a cheaper way to still lease the car you want. Go used.

Used PCP deals are a relatively unknown realm of car purchasing, most people associate PCP deals with brand new vehicles, but that’s not the case.

You can often pick up ex-lease cars and re-lease them on PCP. The monthly rate will be far cheaper as someone else has already paid off the bulk of the depreciation. All the vehicles will be in top class condition, you’re often allowed far more miles per year, and you can get the car you want.

Here are four of the top PCP deals we’ve found on the market. Again, prices will vary so think of these as a ballpark figure with a variation of £10/20 each way.

Ford Fiesta

One of the most common cars on our roads, the humble Ford Fiesta. We’ve managed to find used examples with as little as 17,000 miles on the clock for £113 a month.

This was a late 2014, 64 plate model in mid-range Zetec trim, but it shows what bargains can be found if you look in the right places.

Everyone loves the Ford Fiesta, and thanks to keen PCP car deals they're now even more affordable.
You can’t go wrong with a Fiesta.

Like the Vauxhall Corsa, nearly everyone has driven or owned a Ford Fiesta, they sell them by the bucketload every month, so there’s always going to be some keenly-priced used ones kicking around.

We found the more stylish three-door variant at this price, but you can opt for five doors if you need the extra practicality.

With just a 1.25-litre petrol engine performance is nimble enough for around town with it’s 80 BHP, but expect a slow 0-62 time of 13.3 seconds, you won’t be setting the world alight anytime soon. Boot space is a healthy 290 litres giving you more than enough room for the weekly shop.

An initial deposit of £600 is payable followed by 48 monthly payments of the £113, a final payment can be made to keep the car, and that’s just £1,689.

Peugeot 3008

One of the hottest crossover SUV’s on the market today is the Peugeot 3008, when it was released they had full order books and couldn’t meet demand.

Thankfully they’ve now been out a few years and are super cheap on used PCP deals.

Need a cheap SUV, a used Peugeot 3008 can be yours for less than £300 a month on PCP.
One of the most modern looking SUV’s on our roads.

A 2015/65 plate model with the incredibly economical 1.6 litre BlueHDi diesel engine is just £202 a month, and that’s with the silky-smooth six-speed automatic gearbox.

It will be in the entry-level ‘Active’ trim at this price, but higher spec ‘Allure’ models are on the market for just above £240 with around 50,000 miles on the clock.

The model we found was on sale a £202, it also required a deposit of £1,500 to start the 48-month lease, the car could have between 20-45,000 miles on it and had a limit of just 5,000 miles per year.

There’s also an optional payment of £6,000.

Audi TT

How about a little sports coupe? We mentioned them at the start of the article and were able to find the Audi TT at a fantastic price of £224 a month for a 2015 model.

Sadly, this was for the 1.8-litre petrol model, so not strictly the sportscar you may be after, but at least the miles per gallon and looks are accounted for. It’s still capable of a 6.9 0-62 MPH sprint but can return up to 50 MPG on a long journey.

Who'd have though an Audi TT could be yours for less than £300 a month on PCP.
An Audi TT on your drive for less than £300 a month, mad.

Look for the more business grade ‘Ultra S Line’ trim if you can, it has the larger alloys, the huge 12.3-inch infotainment/dial screen behind the steering wheel, keyless start and LED headlights come as standard.

The only real downside is the hefty initial deposit of £2,400. You will, however, get a healthy 10,000 mile a year limit over the 36-month lease. Expect a used TT at this price to have upwards of 18,000 miles on the clock.

There’s also a hefty final payment of £9,000 after the term is up if you want to keep the car.

BMW 5 Series

Fancy something a little bigger and premium? How about a BMW 5 series?

Well for less than £300 a month a 2017 520d M Sport could be yours. There are a fair few 5 and 3 series models on the market for less than £300 a month, so it’s worth taking a look at both models.

This particular example was in dark metallic grey and had just 20,000 miles on the clock from new. It’s a late 2017/67 plate model with the 2.0-litre diesel engine. Urban MPG is 57 which should easily be achievable, and with a 0-62 time of 7.5 seconds it’s quick off the mark too.

The businessman's car of choice, the BMW 5 series can also be yours for less than £300 a month with a used PCP car deal.
BMW’s 5 Series is a big luxury saloon, it could be yours for less than £300 a month.

Being a more expensive car the deposit is higher, £2,400 to be precise followed by 48 monthly payments of £291. There’s also a final payment after that of £12,800 if you want to keep the car.
